Today marks four years since the death of a friend of mine, Rob Butts. Unfortuantely, and not for lack of trying, we never physically met–though we did manage to talk on the phone once. We corresponded for over 30 years.

Are you sure he is dead? I have found online references to him attending PUC meeting dated after his supposed date of death.
Yes, ma’am. I knew him for 20 or 30 or so years and it has definitely been corroborated by others I know, though I don’t know what “PUC” means.
