Roaring Success Radio Interview – Sleepwalkers

April 18, 2012 by fpdorchak

Today I was interviewed by Roaring Success Radio, at Castle Rock Radio. I will try to load the entire interview onto my website in the very near future, but for now, you can access it by clicking HERE.

The whole thing came about kinda cool: Paul had a cancellation for today, and talked with a mutual friend of ours (Jan C. J. Jones, of Forest Rose Productions, which also includes another friend of mine and my wife, Bob Garner) who recommended me (thanks, again and again!). Paul checked out my sites, sent me an e-mail, and I called him Monday night. Paul loved my blogs and website, and now I love Roaring Success Radio!

How cool is that?

The interview centered around Sleepwalkers and dreams…and how to better use dreams, get more out of dreams. There were actually very good questions, and Sleepwalkers is actually written with that in mind (BTW, it’s actually cheaper to purchase the novel here, than Amazon.com, but you can read the reviews on Amazon.com). Sleepwalkers actually gives ways to better utilize and better remember one’s dreams–and actually has some my (weird!) dreams woven into the book (like the “barn” and “sea” dreams). Both Anthony (the show’s producer), and Paul were very excited, open, and interested in the topic, and we had some great discussions on and off mike.

And my wife made brownies!

I hope to do more with them in the future–thanks, Paul and Anthony!

Sleepwalkers Are Among Us….

April 12, 2012 by fpdorchak

Do you wonder about your dreams, stray thoughts, and alternate realities? What if they merged? Would you like to take a peek behind the curtain of life? See what might be running your life?

Tomorrow, in Longmont, Colorado, is the Longmont Public Library’s Colorado Authors’ Open House, Friday, April 13, 2 to 5 p.m. This is part of their “You Belong” Longmont Library Festival. There, among nearly 100 authors, you will find me and my novel, Sleepwalkers, a story (and some of my actual dreams!) of how and what may be going on in the background of our lives….

The Esoterica Challenge!

January 29, 2012 by fpdorchak

I don’t want this site to just be about me.

I really don’t.

I want others to visit and leave a personal “Just Plain Weird” or otherwise “esoteric” story or two about yourselves! For YOU to share weird things that have happened to you. Things that just didn’t “traditionally add up” in your lives. It can be large or small, doesn’t matter–but it has to be true. I’m not looking to pass judgement, may not even comment (unless asked!)…but I’d really like to bring up the “daily weird” into a more open forum in our lives. I believe we all have at least one or two things that have happened to us during the course of our existence that “just didn’t make sense” in the more traditionally viewed mindset most of us have been brought up in, or work in. I’d also prefer these stories to be more fun or curious.

That’s what ‘d like to see!

NOTE: I’m not looking to focus on the dark and negative, nor am I a “go-to” person to fix any such dark and negative experiences. I have no experience there and there are plenty of others out there who do have that experience. That is not the purpose of this site, so please respect that. The purpose of this site is to focus on the positive and constructive.

And–in the realm of the esoteric–I’m not considered any “great shakes.” I don’t speak, hunt, nor work with ghosts (though I have seen ghosts of two of my dead dogs…and some I know have actually heard a “ghost” of me!). I don’t channel (uh, that I know of…). Don’t interpret dreams (see my post and views on dream interpretation). Don’t paranormally consult. I don’t even make any claims that I’m more advanced than any of you out there. My only real claim is that I’m just like many of you out there…except I may be more aware of some of the weird that “happens” to us…am more open about it. I openly allow the “paranormal” to manifest in my life–but in constructive and positive ways, and I’m a proponent for others to be the same. Sure, many of you are like this too–so this might be more like preaching to the converted for those like you–but I really hope that each of us can be more open to the so-called “paranormal” in all our lives, to not fear it, even laugh at the humoursly strange things that sometimes happen to us (see The Grape)….

So, please, feel free to stop on by and conversate–even if it doesn’t necessarily match the current post. I’m really looking forward to seeing what kinds of cool things have happened to others out there, allowing each of you to acknowledge the esoterica in your lives, since we really don’t get a chance to do so in our so-called “normal society.” I would like this site to be a “safe place” to allow each of you to come and talk about things you might not otherwise be able to…without anyone passing judgement.

Looking forward to hearing from all of you!

Dream Interpretation

January 24, 2012 by fpdorchak

I believe dreamers should interpret their own dreams.

I also believe absolutely everyone dreams. No exceptions.

It may be amusing or “interesting” to hear another’s point of view about your nocturnal adventures…but the true benefit comes from the dreamer his or herself reviewing his or her own dreams and trying to figure them out. And you don’t need anyone else’s symbolic interpretation to do this. What you need, is to figure out what the symbols mean to you–not anyone else. That doesn’t mean that the symbols of your dream might not mean the same thing to others, what’s important is what they mean to you. In the beginning, it’s also not so much important that you get it all “right”…what’s important is that you just do it…build up your own abilities.

For example, if you frequent a favorite childhood haunt in your dreams, it could mean anything from living in the past to going to your “safe place,” a place from which you draw energy. Or dreams of flying could be freedom…or sex. Fear. Or travel. But whatever they do mean, they’re important to you. And when you begin to unravel your own internal dream language, you begin to better communicate with yourself in ways that open new pathways and possibilities. Gives you more of a reason to remember your dreams. Many even pose questions to themselves just before going to bed and ask for the answers in dreams.

Later, dreamers can even learn how to be conscious during their dreams! Learn how to change dream events–as they happen–and not even worry about dying in your own dreams (I’ve died many times in my own dreams, and was consciously aware of it while it happened during many of them–even laughing at the situation and having some fun with “playing dead” with other people in my dream!)

So, when you hit the hay tonight, give yourself the suggestion that you’ll remember your dreams when you wake up, and try to recall them very first thing when you wake up–no matter when that is. If you can, write them down–or speak them into a recorder. If not, just try to remember them for when you do finally get up. If you don’t recall them still, don’t fret–just tell yourself you’ll remember during the course of the day, and trust yourself that you will. I bet you will! If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again! Practice does make perfect!

Welcome!

January 23, 2012 by fpdorchak

This site is under construction!

It is a new endeavor of mine I’ve been considering for some time, splitting off my more esoteric ramblings from my other site, and instigated not only by my own considerations, but also through deep, in-depth conversations with one of my brothers.

What do I want to do and say?

What is my purpose in writing?

What would someone like me being looking for out of the likes of me?

All great questions. On my other site (Runnin Off at the Mouth) I usually deal with things-writing. There have been paranormal/esoteric considerations, but I largely deal with the writing world over there. On this site, the reverse will be in order. Here, I will discuss and deal with those things-metaphysical, dream related, and paranormal that interest me. I don’t intend to be “preachy,” but, really, all who communicate in any way present their own personal world views. I am no different…and my world view is an optimistic Weltanschauung. I’ve put a lot of consideration into life, the universe, and everything and believe in each and all of us creating our own lives, interpreting our own dreams, and resolving our own problems. I’m not a licensed anything, so if you have serious, life-threatening issues, please seek profesisonal help. Here, I’m just going to share thoughts on life, and what I think goes on in the background of our lives. On whatever philosophically interests me. Feel free to stop by, and enjoy!
