Frozen Branches

Thursday and Friday of last week we had a bit of an ice storm…in that I don’t know if it was actually termed an “ice storm,” but we had everything coated in a layer of frost and/or ice—and it was beautiful! Since I am a fan of taking shots of branches, I thought “Frozen Branches” would be a great compliment to my previous post!

Hell to drive in… lovely to the eyes (camera). There were cars spun out, even flipped, up our way. Wish people had stuck with using their cameras.

Yeah, driving on ice-coated roads is dangerous! Wow–flipped? Hope they were okay.

I drove to the airport before morning rush hour and almost didn’t make it out of my neighborhood. Luckily the highways had been sanded. The plane was empty. It felt good to land in California!
        Great photos!

By the way, Frank. Every I land on your other site, it downloads some dance music to my computer. *glitchy*

My website? Yeah, I do have some music playing! It’s from a virtual friend of mine, Marc Schuster (https://marcschuster.wordpress.com/about/), and I love the X-Files-ness of it so asked if I could use it on my site, and he consented. FIND more at: https://marcschuster.wordpress.com/2012/03/08/android-invasion/ Is it giving you problems, or you just didn’t expect it from me? 😛 It may not run in all browsers, even in mine, I have to enable plugins every time I enter my own site! #PITA

It auto-downloads to my computer every time I go there and I don’t hear it.

Huh. Odd. Never heard of that…and that wasn’t my intent to have it download on anyone’s machine! It’s supposed to play from the site. Might be how your system’s configured (machine and/or browser)….

It’s not in the configuration. I would ask others to go to your blog and see if it happens to them. I’ve never experienced that with anyone else’s blog. I use a MacBook Pro. You might consider linking up your WordPress blog instead.

Are others also using Macs? This is the first I’ve ever heard of this problem. Is this obvious, i.e., does it present a message to you that it’s doing this? How did you realize this was happening.

I would think more use Mac than PCs. It presents a message. “Downloading dance music,” and shows up on my download bar at the bottom of my computer. It must be on my hard drive at least a dozen times.

            It could be my computer.

Interesting. I should think auto-downloading could be disabled, but that’s not the point here. :-] I am looking to revamp my website, take it more into the current century, so thanks for the feedback–this really surprises me! I had thought about using WP also as my website, but I like having diverse platforms in case one fails (and WP does have very annoying issues). So, thanks, I might just do that on FB and see what happens….

What annoying issues? Also, in my opinion, auto-music is annoying. I unfollowed a blogger who had it on her blog. I found it distracting while I read. Just my thoughts!

Thanks, Susie! Glad you made it out okay! Such driving can be treacherous!

I’m with Karen. As long as I’m not on the road, I can enjoy this little nature show! Great shots, Frank.
