Second time’s the charm?

Wendy and I tried to record this interview a week ago (the last interview that never happened…), but ran into…let’s just call it “doppelgänger issues”…and the interview was lost….

But yesterday, all things fell into place! The irony of it all was that this interview was originally scheduled for yesterday‘s date, but Wendy had moved it to the previous week (and there’s more about this in the podcast, above).

Insert doppelgänger issues.

The Gazette’s Take 10 Interview Rescheduled

My interview with Eric Singer and The Gazette’s Take 10, which was originally scheduled for September 1, 12 p.m. Mountain Time (MT) has changed. Because of scheduling conflicts, it is now scheduled for September 15, 12 p.m. MT.

Do The Dead Dream? Update!

I am going through a final polishing of the manuscript (ms)! Wow, it’s so hard to believe it’s finally coming to fruition! It’s clocked in at 171,420 words, Front and Back Matter and body.

I’ve received multiple blurbs (endorsements) of the stories, have a couple of interviews scheduled, and (so far) only one review (if anyone out there would like an advance copy of the ms to review, please contact me at fpdorchak [at] fpdorchak [dot] com) currently scheduled. I’m going over the hardcopy now, and once done, will be sending it off for formatting! Lon Kirschner is currently working the cover.

As it currently stands, I’m looking to use IngramSpark to publish and release it.

Had a wonderful and fun interview on Wendy’s Coffeehouse tonight!

25th Anniversary Pikes Peak Writers Conference

I am attending the 25th anniversary of the Pikes Peak Writers Conference, held in Colorado Springs, CO, April 28 – 30th, 2017. The Colorado Springs Marriott, at 5580 Tech Center Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80919, is hosting it. The Marriott’s phone: (719) 260-1800.

I think I’ve missed six conferences, but I started out with the very first on back in 1992, when Jimmie Butler, a retired Air Force colonel, created the PPWC and a local critique group, of which I was a part. He was a huge influence in the region. I don’t keep in contact with him as much as I used to, but I do run into him at the occasional author event or two I attend. I’d write more about both Jimmie and the conference but I have really gotten behind the power curve on getting this post created and getting ready to hit the conference today. Life has been a wee bit overwhelming for me lately, but read Jimmie’s books—I’ve read a couple of them—and he’s a great writer. I recommend A Certain Brotherhood (which the critique group he’d created had helped him refine—and I’m glad to say that I was a part of that!), and The Iskra Incident. Jimmie will be making an appearance at this Sunday’s luncheon.

Well, gotta run! I’ll be mainly hitting social media and marketing sessions, but am also moderating two sessions, but with Kevin Ikenberry (R&C Author and BookBub: A Post-Mortem), another terrific person and also a writer friend of mine. Check out his Sleeper Protocol. Kevin’s never without an outstretched hand for a handshake and that charismatic smile across that face of his….

Voice – Free Review Copies!

I have 19 slightly damaged copies of Voice that I want to give away!

Their damages?

The inside graphic image of the front cover is grainy. That’s it. Nothing else is damaged in the book—well, if you don’t count my intense, troubled characters. So, this being the case, I want to give them out for free for reviews. I’ll also pay for shipping.

I’ll even autograph them for ya.
